Haley Scott @ RuthBlackwell.com. She doesn’t believe in magical power of the Black Cock. She thinks silly thoughts in her head, too. An original Freedom Writer, Manny Scott has energized more than two million educators, students, and leaders worldwide with his inspiring messages of hope.

One of the things that first drew me to photography was the ability to create something unique, original, and artistic. Late nights in the dark room with hands wet with chemicals was a big part of what it was all about in my early days. Don't get me wrong, digital is a great tool, but a big part of me still yearns for those sleepless nights. In the spirit of getting my hands into some chemicals again I decided to embark on a mission this year - to create fine art using film, hand mixed chemicals, and unique papers/mediums.

With that goal in mind I selected Cyanotype printing as my focus because it is truly a hand-made process. From mixing chemicals to coating my own paper, my hands are all over each print from start to finish.

The artist in me was too excited to wait for the first 4x5 negatives of the year to come back from the lab so I dug up a few medium format negatives to test Cyanotype printing with. All the images were created with my beloved old Yashica Mat-124G.

This camera creates a unique square negative which I absolutely love! It forces you to look at the world in a wildly different way than 35mm (or today's digital). The Yashica also creates negatives over twice the size of a 35mm negative which makes it great for many alternative processes that involve contact printing, like cyanotypes.

As a portrait artist and a man in love, all the negatives I found were of my lovely fiance! With some great images to work with (and wonderful memories to dig though!) I couldn't wait to get printing!

Negs dusted off, darkroom set up, and we are all ready to go! The first print (left) was a huge learning experience. I had a little trouble keeping the negative flat to the paper while printing and attempted to use thumb tacks to give me a hand, but it only had mixed success and left light areas in the corners of the print.

So, the first print was a bit of a learning experience, but that's what life is about! After a few refinements in my method I was able to finally get the hang of it and a perfect image in beautiful blue appeared. Can't wait to print more!

Before I start, yes this is my second X-Men Post today but it has meaning!

Also, keep in mind that this is the Movies only ((specifically X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past))

So, let's begin! Spoilers ahead for the X-Men Franchise!

Heya everyone! In case you didn't notice, I am a huge X-Men fan! Now if you're an X-Men fan, you'll know that the continuity in the movies is horribly screwed up.

In my last post, I talked about Charles Xavier and his Wheelchair continuity error. In this one, I am going to talk about the error of Jean Grey and Scott Summers AKA Cyclops and why are they alive at the end of DOFP?

I am going to talk specifically about the events in X2, X3, and DOFP, so here we go!

X2: X-Men United

At the end of X2: X-Men United, we see Doctor Jean Grey sacrificing herself so that the other X-Men may live. In case you need a refresher, here's what happened.

When all power went out in the jet, the X-Men could not escape Stryker. Furthermore, Stryker released a crap ton of water which made Alkali Lake. Jean Grey used her telekinetic abilities to bring the ship back to life and lift them up before she was drowned by the water.

At the very end, during Jean's narration, we see a Phoenix in Alkali Lake, symbolizing the Phoenix Force.

So we know that Jean Grey isn't dead. Or is she?

X-Men: The Last Stand

At the beginning of this movie, we see Scott go to Alkali Lake and then pretty much kill all aquatic life that could possibly be living there when he used his awesome powers to basically just... hurt the water?

Anyways, Jean Grey finds herself alive and in front of herself. But is it really Jean Grey?

We learn later through Professor X that Jean Grey was possessed by the Phoenix Force. She then has a lovey-schmovey scene with Logan before blasting out of the medical room and basically becoming one of the best villains.

There's the Dark Phoenix. At the end of X-Men: The Last Stand, Logan kills the Dark Phoenix Force, stopping the war. But was the Phoenix Force really Jean Grey? Or was it a replica?

But that doesn't really matter. Here's what does.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

At the end of Days of Future Past, we see the return of two of the deceased mutants: Scott Summers and Jean Grey. But my question is... How?

Kitty Pryde sent Wolverine back in time to stop Mystique from killing Trask. He does, which stops the President and the Big Scary People in Black Suits from taking Mystique and making the unstoppable Sentinel army.

That pretty much all it did. It didn't stop Stryker from creating the Adamantium Wolverine, and it didn't stop Stryker from releasing the water that killed Jean Grey. Because that still happened, Jean was still possessed by the Phoenix Force, and she still killed Scott.

So my only question is How did stopping the Sentinels from mass murder bring Jean Grey and Scott Summers back to life?
