Just last week at UFC Fight Night 168, Marley told SportsLine members to support hometown favorite Dan Hooker (-150) against Paul Felder (+130) in a matchup of rugged ranked lightweights in the. Angela Hill (-190) vs Loma Lookboonme (+165) Wow, it is very very cool to see a Thai woman fighting in the UFC. I’m not for sure but I’m almost certain that Loma is the first female from the Kingdom to compete inside the Octagon.

UFC Fight Night 168 goes down in Auckland, New Zealand, this Sunday.

The card is headlined by what should be a massive clash between Paul Felderand Dan Hooker, but the entire card is chock full of exciting bouts.

The leading UFCbetting sites have some very interesting odds for this big night of fights. The moneyline on Felder vs. Hooker is definitely worth a look, but today, I’mgoing to be focusing on the top UFC Fight Night 168 value bets you can get yourhands on, along with a parlay that you might find interesting.

All odds below come courtesy of Betway. Keep in mind that they are subject tochange

So, let’s start with the first value bet and work our way down.

  • Odds for This Bet +350

My first value bet for UFC Fight Night 168 comes in the main event of theevening.

Basketball

Having been backing Felder to win this bout since the fight was announced, Iam more than comfortable taking the moneyline. Right now, it’s floating aroundat about +120.

But I was interested to see if I could get even better odds on the “IrishDragon.”

As it turns out, Felder is currently priced at +350 to beat Dan Hooker bydecision. In my opinion, these are pretty damn tasty.

Felder is one of the toughest guns in the UFC’s lightweight ranks and hasbeen in good form recently. An excellent win over Edson Barboza in Septemberpushed him up to #6 in the UFC’s official rankings at 155, and he’s not stoppingthere.

This fight will be an absolute war and is certain to go to the cards, in myopinion. And when it does, I think Felder will edge it.

Just in case you missed it the first time around, myFelder vs. Hooker preview breaks the fight down and concludes with why I seeFelder taking this one.

Give it a read if you need a little convincing. I’m not saying it willconvince you — especially if you are stuck on Hooker winning the fight — but itshould make you think.

  • Odds for This Bet +210

I have to admit that I likeYan Xiaonan in this fight, but I can’t help butbe drawn to the value in Karolina Kowalkiewicz’s odds.

Now, the buzz is certainly around Xiaonan, who takes a record of 4-0 into thecage.

The Chinese prospect is improving with every fight and has, thus far, justified her place on the roster. And while I think she has the advantage overKowalkiewicz, I’m not sure the betting odds should be so incredibly againstKarolina here.

Kowalkiewicz is a former strawweight title contender who has proven hertoughness over the years. Sure, she might be on a three-fight skid, but thoselosses came to former strawweight champion Jéssica Andrade, Michelle Waterson, and Alexa Grasso.

Xiaonan has won four on the bounce, but the caliber of her opponents has beennowhere near Kowalkiewicz’s. So, in many ways, this will be a test for theemerging star.

Kowalkiewicz is a tough nut that can really put it up to Xiaonan. If she canget in her face and frustrate her from the first bell, there is no reason whyshe can’t scrape a decision win.

Kai Kara-France to Win by KO, TKO, DQ, or Submission

The crowd will certainly be on their feet in Auckland when one of their own,Kai Kara-France, enters the arena.

In my opinion, it won’t take too much longer until they are back on theirfeet, clapping and yelling with glee at the Octagon.

That’s because Kara-France will, of course, have beaten Tyson Nam and sentthe crowd wild.

Kara-France is 3-1 in the UFC and will be more than confident of beating Namin his hometown scrap. Especially given the ten-year age advantage in his favor.

Now, I think Kara-France will win this fight — which is pretty obvious if youhave been reading the above — but more than this, I am backing him to win bystoppage.

You can get odds of +275 on Kara-France beating Nam by stoppage. Thisincludes by KO/TKO, submission, and disqualification.

Those odds are pretty damn good, in my opinion.

Angela Hill to Win by KO, TKO, DQ, or Submission

Angela Hill is an absolute beast on the feet.

More than this, she has years of experience in the UFC and Invicta, and thatexperience could go a long way against the young Thai, Loma Lookboonmee.

Lookboonmee is 4-1 in pro-MMA and won her UFC debut with a split decisionover Aleksandra Albu in October.

The Thai’s only loss came to Suwanan Boonsorn in November 2018, and that wasby submission on the local circuit in Bangkok.

The 24-year-old is an awesome Muay Thai striker and could go on to have ahuge career in the UFC. However, I think Hill’s experience and nous could proveto be her downfall here, and she could end up locking in for a submission.

If Hill submits or stops Lookboonmee, you might regret not taking odds of+300.

My UFC Fight Night 168 Parlay

  • Felder by Decision +350
  • Kowalkiewicz to Win +210
  • Kara-France to Win by KO, TKO, DQ, or Submission +275
  • Hill to Win by KO, TKO, DQ, or Submission +300

A $100 bet on the parlay above pays out $20,925 (including your stake).

Now, I don’t know about you, but those are some awesome odds.

So there you have it, the best UFC Fight Night 168 value bets, and a prettyhuge parlay to boot.

Paul Felder vs. Dan Hooker

UFC Lightweight Bout
Saturday, February 22, 2020 – 07:00 PM EST
Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand

Paul ‘The Irish Dragon’ Felder (17-4-0)

The UFC schedule is heating up during the first quarter of 2020 as were gifted with countless live martial arts shows and mouth-watering main events. One of those said main events will take place in Auckland, New Zealand this coming week, as ‘The Irish Dragon’ Paul Felder will enter hostile territory to take on Dan Hooker.

It wasn’t always a story of swinging fists and bloody battles; Felder, father of four has always had a keen interest in martial arts and combat sports but never would’ve dreamt that he’d earn a living from fighting.

Born and raised in Philadelphia to Irish American parents, it wouldn’t be until Felder was a college student that the redhead with heavy hands would take his first fight. Whilst talking amongst his college buddies, Felder suggested that he wants to take an amateur fight, the rest is history.

Felder said in an interview with UFC.COM, “Yeah, I have to do it again,” he said to a group that had suddenly grown silent with the exception of someone who blurted, “What are you talking about?”

“That was the most addictive, craziest f**king feeling I’ve ever had in my entire life,” Felder responded. “I have to do it again and I have to do it better.”

Fast-forward a decade and the exact same rush is still something ‘The Irish Dragon’ continues to chase. I’ve spoken on fighters like Felder before; the level of intensity and aggression isn’t something that’s taught in a gym, Felder has the urge to fight because it runs through his veins. His culture, his people, the Irish love to fight. A degree in acting from the University of Arts should speak volumes on the matter; Felder has other options but continues to lace up the gloves.

It’s always a good feeling to watch Felder switch from his suit and tie at the UFC commentary desk to make that nerving walk to the octagon. A fan favorite, one of the Lightweight division’s most talented strikers and the all-around good guy will be back on our screens with a point to prove he’s not just all talk.

Paul Felder +130 with 5Dimes

Dan Hooker (19-8-0)

The UFC’s Lightweight division is arguably the toughest and most stacked division of them all. With current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov remaining undefeated throughout his career, fighters ranked #2 – #10 are a fearsome bunch of dudes, Dan Hooker being one of them.

Currently ranked 8th, Hooker has been a Lightweight contender that nobody wants to fight. His UFC tenure wasn’t an easy one. Putting together back to wins became impossible for the New Zealand native and it wasn’t until 2017 with two years’ experience in the UFC before he found a winning streak.

Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, the 30-year old ‘City Kickboxing’ star began his martial arts career in 2009 and amassed a record of 10-4 before being signed by the UFC. A former kickboxer and competitor in BJJ tournaments, Hookers skillset doesn’t stop at the striking.

Dan Hooker will be here to put on a show for his home town this coming weekend but, Paul Felder could be the toughest test of his career. In his previous 7 fights, Hooker has shown the evolution; finishing 5 of 7 inside the distance and only losing 1 of them, in a close decision battle against Edson Barboza. Putting away legends such as Ross Pearson, Jim Miller, and Mark Diakese isn’t something that’s easily accomplished. That said, taking out the home town boy with 10 knockouts on his record also, isn’t easy.

UFC Fight Night 168 will produce a fan-favorite main event and potentially a fight of the year candidate.

UFC FN 168: Felder vs. Hooker Prediction & Betting Pick

I don’t envy a single soul attempting to place money on this fight, whilst Paul Felder looks ever so tempting at underdog money; this contest is just one of those fights that even the world’s greatest analysts will struggle to predict.

Both fighters could be potential number one contenders and both fighters are tough enough to make their way right to the top. Their storylines are almost identical, they’ve both been fighting a lot but without main event status.

Fight Night 168 Odds For Today

How can Hooker win the fight?

The kickboxing skill of Hooker is something to behold. Uppercuts, knees, no sorry… lethal knees! Hooker has fought a lot of guys who are smaller than him but, he proved himself against the bigger fighter in James Vick and in case you didn’t already know, Hooker has fought at Heavyweight in the past. Yes, you heard it… current UFC Lightweight Dan Hooker has competed and heavyweight, and won!

I think either fighter will have a knockout risk and opportunity, I don’t think we’ll see a knockout but for the first fifteen minutes of the fight, I believe the younger, hungrier fighter in Dan Hooker can take the advantage.

How can Felder win the fight?

The reality is, Felder is a busy man and putting your hard-earned money behind a fighter who has more variables than most, can be a risk. We have a potential fight of the night and year for the main event in New Zealand and the best way for Felder to find success will be with a vicious knockout. Fighting in hostile territory is always going to be a risk, take UFC 247 for example. You can’t allow the judges to make decisions especially when your opponent was born in the place you’re fighting.

Use SBR Odds to keep an eye on the odds and pounce when you feel necessary. I’ll also be interested in the ‘fight goes the distance’ prop market. Both fighters have 20 knockouts between them which could potentially juice up the odds on the ‘fight goes the distance’ prop.
